Kainat Foundation celebrated 'The
International Day for Monuments and Sites’’, which
was created on
18 April 1982 by the International Council on
Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and later approved at the 22nd
UNESCO General Conference in 1983. ICOMOS is an
international non-governmental organization and the official
advisory body to UNESCO and to the World Heritage Committee
for matters concerning the protection of the world's
cultural heritage.
"Urdu, associated with the literary gatherings held at Red Fort in Delhi under the patronage of the later Mughal Emperors, represents a rich culture and is an international language which the younger generations must cultivate. A good number of organizations, Schools and individuals in Qatar are putting great efforts in promoting Urdu language by organizing different programs’, said Shakil Ahmed Kakvi, Chairman, Kainat Foundation.
To celebrate the International Day for Monuments and Sites, a workshop was organized in which the students of Pakistan EducatioN Centre, Birla Public School, Ideal Indian School, MES Indian School and Pak Shama School students spoke on a wide range of themes, such as getting education as an obligation; pollution affects children more; relevance of science in human life, proper sleep necessary for physical and mental health; both parents and teachers are responsible for the upbringing of the children. and (junior category). Senior category students spoke on themes like the object of education is not just to prepare for jobs, but also to develop personality; environment protection is not the sole responsibility of government, citizens also have a role in it; creating scientific attitude among the children is a must for the prosperity of the society; healthy children – healthy society; progress of the society depends on the mutual cooperation of the individuals. Later, the outcome of the Workshop was presented on the stage by the participants.
H.E Dr. George Joseph, Chief Guest, congratulated Kainat Foundation for organizing International Day of Monuments and Site by involving younger generation and appreciated the efforts of teachers and parents for coming forward for this function.
Mr. Syed Abdul Hai presided over the function and assured his continued support to the foundation and mentioned that “Kainat Foundation is trying to bridge the gap between Urdu scholars and new generation”.
In recognition of the efforts of Urdu scholars, Mr. Mumtaz Rashid, Dr. Syed Jamaluddin, Mr. Amjad Ali Sarwer, Mr. Iftekhar Raghib , Mr. Shafique Akhter, Mr. AtaurRehman Siddique, Mr. Ateeque Anzar, Mr. Syed Faheemuddin and MR. Mansoor Azmi, the Foundation displayed their books published by them and honored them for their valuable work. Citation was read out about each of these scholars and poets by students, Fathima Reesa, Khadija Roohi, Shamsur Rehman Siddique, Mujtaba Manzoor Ahmed, Safa Fatima, Aiman, Hamadur Rehman, Osama Faiyaz Ahmed and Saffa Fatima. Mr. N. Dey, Mr. K.P Abdul Hameed, Mr. Habbebunabi, Mr.Mumtaz Hussain Shad Akolvi, Mr.Dad Khan, Mr. Abdul Haq, Mr. Obaid Tahir, Mr. Mohammed Talha were the Guests of Honor. Teachers representating the expatriate schools expressed their views on this occasion which they declared as unique and innovative aimed at making Urdu popular among the children whose mother tongue happens to be urdu.. The program was coordinated by Mrs. Rafath Jahan.
