th
February 1999, Kainat Foundation was
founded. Its mission is simple -to empower the underprivileged children
by means of education and to give them hope for a better tomorrow. This
paved the way for the Foundation’s motto -“Work together for a better
tomorrow.”
The Kainat Foundation is a registered non-profit, Non-Governmental
Organization (NGO) under the Society Registration Act 21, 1860/523,
Government of India. It was founded at the Kako village in the Jehanabad
district of Bihar. It aims to tackle the grave issue of poverty through a
five-pronged plan: providing Education for all, creating and encouraging
Scientific and Environmental Awareness, providing Health care facilities
to people, practicing and encouraging Child Care, and by other
Community Development projects. One of its most innovative projects
focuses on making children not only the subjects of change but also
the agents of change. Its members are actively working to improve the
basic living conditions of children at the lower rungs of the ladder of
society—the street children, those forced into child labor and children
of other downtrodden social classes. By working at the very grass root
level, the Kainat Foundation strives to bring about a change in not only
the tangible conditions of living and sanitation, but also the prevalent
attitude, thoughts and views of the entire community; for the children
of today will be the leaders of tomorrow! The main goal of the Kainat
Foundation is to help create a better tomorrow for those who cannot even
hope for one. It aims to spread knowledge among children and help them
learn skills that will enable them to earn a decent living. It also endeavors
to inculcate attitudes and qualities in them such that they will become
socially responsible citizens and will be active participants themselves
in the systematic process of improving the society to give their peers a
chance at a better tomorrow.
